March went by so quickly, it felt like a long rainy day. A bit too much rain in my opinion, I'm definitely ready for spring.

I thought it might be fun to share my favorite things and events at the end of every month. Favorite movie, item, recipe, moment etc.. It could be anything. Here are my favorites of March!

• Serie – Daisy Jones and the Six

This serie is about a band in the 70’s. Let me start with saying that I feel like I’m born in the wrong era. I love the vibes of the 70’s and 80’s. The clothes, haircuts, glasses, cars and most of all the music.. I WISH I was there to witness David Bowie, The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, The Clash, Joy Division ( I can go on forever) perform in their early stages. The small festivals, performances in small halls. No modern technology.. Anyways… The serie is about a band and their struggle to make it into the music industry, their fights, addiction, love and finally becoming famous. I haven’t read the book Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid , since I’ve heard the series is better. And since I still have about twenty unread books in my bookcase, I decided to skip it. If you’ve read the book and think it’s worth the read, let me know!

• Song – Dancing Barefoot – Patti Smith

This is the introsong to the series I listed above. Since I started watching Daisy Jones and the Six, I have this song on repeat.

Sometimes you hear a song that's already familiar and think: why didn't I appreciate this song before? Immediately added this gem to my golden oldies playlist.

• Item – Tofu press

Ik eet minstens eens per week tofu en sinds ik een tofu pers heb aangeschaft is het maken van tofu zoveel makkelijker en smakelijker. Als je tofu koopt, is dat meestal in een bakje met vocht verpakt. De tofu zelf is dus volgezogen met water. Om het op smaak te brengen, pers je dit vocht er uit en laat je vervolgens de tofu marineren in je saus naar keuze. Je kan de tofu persen het blok in een schone theedoek te wikkelen en er een paar zware boeken op te leggen, maar ik was wel een beetje klaar met die methode en schafte een tofu pers aan. Binnen een half uur heb je echt een grote hoeveelheid water opgevangen en kan je de tofu in blokjes snijden om vervolgens te marineren. I’m a fan! Er zijn verschillende soorten tofu persen, ik heb die van Tofu Bud.

• Book – The Serpent and the Wings of Night – Carissa Broadbent

This book is fantastic. If you like fantasy and romance (romantasy), this is your book. I’m personally a big fan of vampire books, I went through the Vampire Acadamy series in no time. But this book hits different, it’s so much better. It’s exciting, romantic and spicy in the end. Very well written, it got me hooked from page one. I have to say it’s not for those with a weak stomach, some parts are very bloody.

The Serpent and the Wings of Night is book one of the Crowns of Nyaxia series and tells the story of Oraya, a woman who was adopted by a vampire king named Vincent when she was young. She’s a human in a vampire world who wants to prove to the world that she’s more than prey, so she enters the Kejari; a tournament held by the Goddess of Death, Nyaxia. Vampires from the three vampire houses participate in this tournament and eventually only the winner survives. In this tournament, Oraya meets Raihn. An extraordinary vampire who becomes Orayas alliance. She feels attracted to him, but in the end they are competitors and only one can stay alive.

The tension between Oraya and Raihn makes it hard to put the book down. It’s a slow burn with a plot twist at the end, which I didn’t see coming. Book two comes out in April and I can’t wait to read it!

• Moments

Picking up Maurice after his week-long sailing trip in the Mediterranean. So nice to have him home again :)

While Maurice was sailing, I spent a couple of days at my parents. We had dinner together (I love cooking for them), played Rummikub and talked while drinking a cup of tea (wine). We had such a good time.

Seeing my veggie plants grow. Although I have to admit that my windowsill is starting to get crowded and I can’t add anymore plants.

Moments of sunshine between all the rain. It always makes me giggle to see Chewy finding the tiniest ray of sunshine, he adores the sun. Even when it's storming outside but the sun shines, he would sit in front of the back door letting me know he wants to chill in the yard.
